A song can be passed from one person to another, but each singer is invited to bring their own heart to God. Psalm 62 and the hymn remind us that God is our rock when we feel shaken, and that Christ offers mercy when we have fallen short. We do not need to hide our worries, grief, or failures from God; we can pour out our hearts to him and face daily life knowing we are not carrying it alone.
