Most of us treat spiritual growth like a self-improvement project. We want visible results, fast progress, and measurable productivity. But Jesus describes fruitfulness as the result of abiding, not striving.
A garden cannot be bullied into fruitfulness. Neither can the soul. The invitation of Jesus is not frantic production, but deep connection.
